Jacobs offer a full range of Energy & Power Project services from pre-feasibility, through to detailed design, tendering, construction and site supervision. We are looking for a motivated person to manage projects primarily within the Transmission and Distribution sector, with the opportunity to work across other areas such as Generation, Power Systems and Industrial Power projects. Our scope of services is predominantly engineering design with a mix of consulting and owner’s engineers’ services.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intern Geothermal Geoscientist to join our Auckland Energy & Power (E&P) Geothermal team this summer. In this role you'll be working alongside our geothermal technical leaders, applying your key geological and science skills to a range of international geothermal projects. You will support the Jacobs geothermal team with geological data compilation, analysis and interpretation for the evaluation of geothermal developments for both electricity generation sector and direct use. You will also assist with the fundamentals of project management, coordinating roles and tasks to provide great outcomes for international geothermal industry capacity building activities. You'll work alongside our Senior Consultants providing meaningful input on across our Geothermal team – and we’ll mentor you each step of the way to ensure you’re set up for success.

Here's what you'll need

Ideally, you’re in your penultimate year at university studying a degree in either Geology, Geophysics, Geothermal Science. Those enrolled in a Masters program highly encouraged to apply (this is not an essential requirement). We’re seeking those with a genuine interest and drive for renewable energy, geothermal and earth science. This is a unique role that requires applicants to hold the right to work in New Zealand.
