Intern Opportunities: 

We are recruiting for Electrical Engineering Interns in our Transmission & Distribution team, in Christchurch and Wellington.

With unprecedented change in the Energy sector, there has never been a more exciting time to join AECOM’s Transmission & Distribution business. We are industry leaders in Electrical Power delivery systems with extensive experience in new and upgraded power systems. 

Our projects include the design of overhead transmission lines, renewable energy and storage systems, transmission grid and distribution substations for a multitude of clients. We are a dedicated team of professionals who work closely with our clients to deliver innovative and technically challenging solutions on time, every time.  We provide services from consulting and concept designs through to detailed design, projects staging and technical support during construction and commissioning.

As an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Transmissions and Distributions team, you will assist with: 

  • Producing quality electrical design work including transmission lines, substations, and renewable energy generation
  • Site visits and inspections
  • Drafting design reports 
  • Collaborating with team members to provide our clients with complex solutions.

Requirements for Success 

  • Undertaking a relevant Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree for the role you are applying. (see opportunities document)
  • Be in your penultimate year or earlier of study at an Australian or New Zealand University.
  • Able to commence work from mid-November 2024 to mid-February 2025 (Flexible)
