Visit Our Website

Visits to the GradConnection site for the month of May this year reached a total of 33,280! This is a 24 percent increase on the 26,897 visits we had last May!
Our unique student visits went up even further with 27 percent more students/graduates viewing our Employer Profiles. This resulted in 21,151 individuals seeing what employment opportunities were on offer for them in New Zealand.
An additional note is that we are proud to announce that our Facebook page tipped over the 5,000 mark last month and now has over 5,200 likes and is still continuing to grow daily!
Newest Employers

It's fantastic to see how the Graduate Employer market is continually expanding and incredible to see that the Government is jumping on board. Over the past month we have had a number of companies go live on our site Mars, Datacom, Goodman Fielder, The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and Shell, and there are more to come very soon!

And Welcome to June-well mid June now! Tomorrow is the shortest day of the year so the good news is days will be getting (slightly) longer and then hopefully spring will be here before we know it!

We hope everyone has everything under control with regards to graduate/intern recruitment-remember we are always here if you have any questions or queries.

Thank you once again to all of our Employers who took the time to complete our recent survey. We had a fantastic response and as such we have decided to hold an event in both Auckland and Wellington to go through the fantastic feedback - this will also include the presentation of our recent student survey results as well.... but more on that from Rich later.

Before we begin, the end of our Statistical Reporting year is fast approaching, in fact only a few weeks away, so please let us know when suits you best to go through the annual stats and to plan for the next year.

GradTV Episodes

Following the creation of our new GradTV episode set-up we have continued on with 'production' and have another employer due to release these over the next few weeks - so keep an eye on our YouTube Channel.

If you are yet to see the latest tweaks and adjustments we have made, make sure you have a look at Beca’s newly-released videos
Part one - Part Two

The new feel of our videos includes shots taken from around the Employer's offices, giving students a behind-the-scenes experience and with each set of questions tailored to the Employer, we can showcase whichever part of the business you wish. Our very own editor and director gives flexibility in the make-up of each video, catering to each individual employer’s needs.

If you like our episodes or would like to hear more about our GradTV Episodes just contact Kelly as we are in the process of organising the next round of filming to occur in late July in Auckland, early August for Wellington.

Have you had a chance to look at our Pinterest page yet?
People are using Pinterest to discover and share things that inspire them. This provides a perfect opportunity for us to do the same with our Employers. We have every one of our Employers currently represented in one way or another and are continually adding new 'Boards'.
We will be launching our latest idea over the next month or two and will be talking with our Employers about this soon - so stay turned for updates!

If there is anything you have on your organisation that you would like to share (eg. pictures), then send them through and we can 'pin' these for you.

GradConnection Student Pulse Events
The upcoming Student Pulse events in Auckland and Wellington are going to be a fantastic opportunity for graduate employers to get together for a short, sharp briefing on what the current New Zealand undergraduate student is motivated by, and why. Student preferences, perceptions and ambitions are important for employers to understand, as a key aspect of attracting the right kind of graduate is having a detailed, current picture of who that student is. GradConnection has performed analysis over a number of surveys, gaining insight into current New Zealand undergraduate students, with the aim of sharing this with clients. This information will challenge, affirm and raise further questions for employers, depending on their current graduate employment practices.
Each Employer is invited to send up to two representatives. The event is open to all GradConnection clients, and clients will be sent a formal invitation to attend in the next few days (if you haven't already received one).
Event details are as follows:
Date: July 17th
Time: 10-11.30am
Venue: In Wellington CBD
Date: July 18th
Time: 10.30am-12.00pm

Please RSVP to [email protected] by 5.00pm Friday June 28th

ENSOC Event - ENSOC Engineering Expo

The '3rd Pro Beca Quiz Night’ was held at the end of last month with great success at the Foundry for Canterbury University's 3rd year Engineering students. As a key sponsor it was great to see the exposure GradConnection received in addition to the quiz slides we had posters, banners and tickets.
We will next be down at Canterbury Uni for the Engineering Expo on the 16th of July.

Auckland University Interfaculty Sports Tournament

As a key sponsor of the Auckland University Engineering Faculty we receive coverage and representation at all of their games! Most recently we were seen at Auckland University cheering on the Engineering Eagles in both the men's and women's Basketball finals. The girls came in second place overall and the boys took at the number one spot to keep Engineering top of the table!
Don't forget too that we are sponsorsing the Futsal Tournament happening from the 7th to the 11th of October - Futsal is basically indoor soccer. Differences are; teams are five-a-side; Futsal is played on a hard surface with line boundaries determined; and has a smaller less bouncy ball. These create a game that has an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique. Our sponsorship means that we will be identified on all promotional material and have banners and representatives at games.
