Sam Corbin

Senior Account Executive

Sam approached Toll New Zealand while he was at university completing a Business degree for assistance with completing his final paper on co-operating learning. After his graduation, we offered Sam a spot in our Toll Graduate program in February 2009.

While in the Graduate program, Sam spent time learning Toll’s operations, administration, customer service and sales procedures. He delivered a strong interest in sales, and in 2010 progresses to an Account Manager position in Toll New Zealand’s Northland operation. Due to Sam’s great all-round knowledge of our operations, he’s been able to provide top quality solutions for Toll’s customers.

In 2011 Sam transferred to Auckland where he continued in Account Management until he was again promoted, to Key Account Executive. Since then he has managed a variety of our Auckland Branch’s key customers and this year (2015) he has been promoted to Senior Account Executive.

Sam has a bright future with Toll New Zealand and forms part of Toll’s commitment to developing our capabilities for our customers’ benefit.

Victoria Timmins

Marketing Coordinator

Victoria joined Toll New Zealand graduate program in November 2015 after completing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland.

Victoria started her rotation with the Sales team, working as a Commercial Administrator to provide maternity leave cover for a 6 month period. From there, she moved into a diverse and ever-changing role as a Marketing Coordinator, providing support to both the Sales team and the wider business. In recent months, she has also been partially seconded to provide assistance to Toll’s legal team, which provides her with an opportunity to use the knowledge she gained whilst studying for her major in Commercial Law. Victoria’s passion for customer care resulted in her being sent to Australia to meet with Toll’s Group Business Development team, where she gained a deeper understanding of the Toll Group’s approach to customer centricity. She now regularly works alongside the Group Business Development team to provide advice and support on multinational and domestic tenders.

Victoria’s experience is a great example of how the Toll graduate program can be tailored to suit your passion, and how the program can provide targeted professional development to launch your career.

I love the fact that every day is a little bit different in the Toll Graduate program.  During my studies, I never thought I’d end up in a business-to-business industry like freight, but I’m so glad I took a chance on Toll. The opportunities and experiences I have had have been fantastic- the support and encouragement from the Toll team has really helped me develop my career.

Chad Beets

Operations Supervisor and Cadet Program Graduate, Toll Parcels Auckland

Chad joined our Auckland domestic forwarding operation in February 2012 as a cadet, straight out of school. Chad completed rotations in all the Auckland branch’s functional departments and, at one point, had his eye on a sales career.

However, he developed a liking for freight operations during his rotations, so when an opportunity came up in June 2013 for an afternoon shift supervisor at our New Zealand's parcels business, the company quickly approached Chad and offered him the role.

“Through the Cadet Program I've had the pleasure of working in many different divisions and built key working relationships. This has helped me to be successful as a supervisor with Toll New Zealand - parcels.”
